Finops Operating Model
Our comprehensive project approach. With this project approach, we will take care of the start-up, implementation, and embedding of FinOps within organizations. This means that we take you through the strategic choices that need to be made, operational framework and processes that need to be set/in place, and the people that need to be trained and coached in this.
A clear modular approach leads to a sustainable implementation.
FinOps Assessment and Analysis
In this module, we will perform an assessment and analysis of the current state of FinOps practice at the organization. We do this by using, among other things, a FinOps Maturity Assessment (FOMA), a FinOps Benchmark, and the FinOps Operating Model Template.
The FinOps Operating Model Template creates an overview at the start of a FinOps Implementation. It describes the structure of the FinOps Team, defines roles, establishes responsibilities and communication and decision-making processes.

- Identify current state
- Perform a FinOps Maturity Assessment
- Perform a FinOps Benchmark
- Use the Operating Model Template
- Define roles and responsibilities
- Define communication guidelines
- Define decision-making process
FinOps Strategy Development
This module helps organizations develop a FinOps strategy that aligns with broader business objectives. It helps to set priorities, and milestones which can help with further implementation of the FinOps Operating Model.
This module also adds Leadership to the FInOps Operating model. This ensures that MT, (senior) management, board, and product owners get tools to steer the teams on value with which they directly positively influence the company-wide objectives. This results in more grip and control while increasing the business value of the different IT environments.
FinOps Implementation
This is the structured approach to FinOps rollout. This includes several phases working towards the actual implementation of FinOps. Think of timelines, phases, process optimizations, cooperation improvement, etc. All this is to make the FinOps operating model fit the business objectives.
Champions Program
Developing a FinOps Champions program involves more than just selecting people who have taken a course. It also includes building a community, driving FinOps within all levels of the organization, and retaining knowledge which is critical to everyone taking ownership of their costs.
Continuous Improvement Framework
This is a package in which the FinOps Academy continues to help you where necessary. Ultimately, it is our mission that every organization should be in control of its IT spending as well as the FinOps Operating Model. Of course, there may be questions where we can help you. This is why this module has been created so that several sessions can be booked and that we can help you further.
